This has been a topic of discussion for a long time now. How much do I charge for a wedding, portrait session, kid’s birthday party, etc.?… When do I say no to a client? How do I structure my pricing? How much time should a session take? What size file do I give my client? What software is best to use? The list goes on…
The photography business is ever changing. Technology has made a huge impact on what a potential client expects and how we conduct our daily photography business. Taking great photos is only a fraction of being a photographer. Dealing with potential clients, handling disputes and issues that may arise at an event or session, creating a price list, pre session consultations, what to wear to a wedding, how to dress for a corporate shoot, what to put on your website, how to deliver your images to your client, should you use online viewing… are just a few questions I get every day!
This class is going to address any question you may have with the “Business” of photography. I will share my contracts, worksheets, strategies, stories, methods and anything else that I deal with on a daily basis. Make a list of questions. Listen to others and their questions. This will be a Live, interactive class that you can attend from the comfort of your own home.
Some of the topics addressed will be:
- Branding your name
- Pricing for your shoot
- How to price for your product
- Booking / Scheduling
- Handling Clients
- Saying NO!
- File sizes to clients
- File sizes for printing
- Model releases for children and adults
- Print releases to clients vs. models
- How to accept payments
- When to ask for a deposit
- How much to ask for a deposit
- Return / Refund Policies
- Contracts
- Copyright
- Ways to protect your images
- When do you need insurance/ what kind of insurance
- Using your clients image for display or advertising
- Much more…
This class is not for the “Stock, Fashion or Commercial” photographer. It is intended to assist the Event and Portrait photographer. I have spent the last 29 years in the photographic industry from labs to studios. I have had many corporations and have worked from my home and have owned 3 studios in NYC. I have had partners and have gone solo.
Learn from my mistakes and experiences, before you make them yourself.
